Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types of payment do you accept?

We prefer Zelle, but if Zelle doesn’t work for a family, we accept personal checks, cash, and cashier’s checks. Use MECC’s email address for Zelle.

Q: Does MECC accept tuition assistance?

Yes, we accept WI Shares and UW CCTAP and will consider other options at families’ request. Families pay full tuition until assistance is received.

Q: How do I get a statement for my flex plan?

You may request a statement at any time.

Q: When is tuition due?

The Friday before the week of care. If the Friday payment is missed, tuition is due by  Monday with a $10 late payment fee added. If I missed Friday, but I pay for two weeks on Monday, do I still have to pay the late payment fee? Yes.

Q: Can we change our start date?

Maybe. MECC reserves a specific start date for your child upon enrollment. Families may join the enrolled families priority waitlist for any earlier spaces that open up. Delaying starting by more than 2 weeks requires using leave of absence weeks.

Q: Why can’t I use my phone, smartwatch,  or other device in the building?

Separating and reuniting times are important; children and teachers deserve your full attention. Also, your child’s safety is your responsibility and needs your full attention during transitions. Phones may be used for translation purposes or to take a photo of menus, schedules or your child's notebook.

Q: How does a leave of absence work?

Leaves of absence are 3 to 10 weeks per year, free during the summer and half tuition during the school year. The summer leave requires a deposit.

Q: How do the 2 free vacation weeks work?

One is when MECC closes for the winter holidays. The other may be taken whenever the family wishes, once per MECC year (Sept 1 - Aug 31).

Q: What if I pick up late?

Call to let us know and drive carefully. Late pickup fees apply.

Q: May we bring in birthday invitations?

Yes, if there’s one for every child in the class.

Q: May we bring in birthday treats?

Yes, in original, unopened packaging, no chocolate.

Q: May we bring in staff treats?

Yes, staff treats are welcome at any time.
